A WORLD FIRST: The Cairns ZOOm is the first ever Challenge Ropes Course to be located within a wildlife immersion exhibit (an environment where birds and most of the animals can roam free within the confines of the large aviary enclosure, allowing interaction between humans, animals, and the environment).
UNIQUE & INNOVATIVE: The Cairns ZOOm further enhances the interaction between humans and birds by allowing this to occur at varying heights within the Dome. As such, visitors can further appreciate and be educated about our native fauna during an exhilarating experience.
LOCATION: In the Cairns CBD, within the Cairns Wildlife Dome on top of the Reef Hotel Casino, only 5 minutes walk from the Reef Fleet Terminal, Cairns Cruise Terminal, and the majority of Cairns accommodation.
ALL-WEATHER ACTIVITY: Protected from the rain and sun, Cairns’ only indoor Zoo in the City offers visitors and locals an all-weather activity. Ponchos are provided for the external walkway when required.
DAY & NIGHT ACTIVITY: The facility is open from 9am to 9pm and is fully equipped with adequate lighting, offering Cairns visitors and locals an exciting new evening activity, ideal for passengers returning from the reef or other tours at the end of the day.
HIGH SAFETY STANDARDS: The Cairns ZOOm utilises a continuous belay system. All participants wear a harness which connects them to the safety cable system while traversing through a series of elements. Participants are unable to disconnect themselves from the course at any stage, thus minimising the risk of human error.
SUITABLE FOR ALL AGES: Nearly everyone has an adventurous streak and will want to experience The Cairns ZOOm at some level. There is a minimum height restriction of 120cm so children possibly as young as 8 and adults as old as 98 are able to participate in Cairns ZOOm.
SUITABLE TO ALL NATIONALITIES: The safety equipment used reduces the risk element for participants. Language barriers are overcome through the use of internationally used safety and warning symbols in signage and in the safety video.
LEVELS OF DIFFICULTY: The course is graded and colour coded to cater to different levels of fitness and aptitude. Participants are able to select a more difficult route and pass other users at specific points on the course.
GROUPS: Varying group sizes are catered for, with large groups split up and started at different locations on the course, avoiding congestion and ensuring participants finish at approximately the same time.
MEETINGS, INCENTIVE, CONFERENCES & EVENTS: Located 5 minutes walk from the Cairns Convention Centre and all city 5 Star Hotels. It is a great indoor facility for team building exercises and group activities are specially catered for.
